Words cannot describe, how elated I am be on this ketogenic journey. The Keto way of eating/living has revolutionized my life and for the first time has helped me gain a healthy relationship with food. I am proud to state that my carb addiction has completely dissipated!!!
I am also honored to share my journey with you via A Low-Carb Life. Walker One has become a trusted ally for me and has been an absolute God send on this journey. A Low-Carb Life is well on it’s way to become a mecca of compiled information and resources for healthy living. The tools provided here were designed to catapult you to what could be your healthiest life. Walker One has freely provided insight, sound information, and tools that have helped me along my way. My hope in my partnership with him is that something I share will also provide tools for you to store in your Keto/Healthy Living toolbox.
Before Keto, feel I have tried everything short of surgery:
- Weight Watchers
- South Beach
- 10 Day Smoothie cleanse
- and various plans of calorie counting
And honestly I had a level of success on all of them. The problem for me was they always felt like diets and I was always hungry and still obsessed with food. Then the minute I stepped outside of their guidelines, I gained back those pounds and more. I was lucky things never got too far out of control where I couldn’t pull it back. I was relatively healthy and had the ability to exercise. But the yo yo dieting was getting tiring and very old.
In October of 2013, I hit rock bottom when I was struck by car walking across the street. I suffered a 3 month period where I couldn’t walk and 2 years of mobile instability coupled with inactivity and self medicating myself with food followed. This resulted in my weight catapulting to the highest I have ever seen an astronomical 285 pounds. Unreal!
I am 7 weeks into my journey of non-depravity and have released 24 pounds eating glorious delicious healthy food. I have a long-term goal of dropping close to 100 or so pounds, but I am celebrating each mini milestone along the way.
For me, Keto represents the fight my life and this fight I plan to win. With Keto, I am consistently satisfied, and rarely ever hungry. Because my body has been restructured to burn fat for fuel, I don’t suffer the peaks and valleys that I had become accustomed to related to a carb driven metabolism.
Healthier version of me
Today I am a healthier version of me in more ways than one. Yesterday I hopped on my bike and took nearly a 7 mile ride. I felt like I could fly. Frantically pedaling as the wind caressed my cheeks, I felt so happy to be alive.
In this blog, I will share with you the foods I have been eating and also share some of the delicious Keto-fied recipes I have found along the way. With them you will see that eating Keto is not only a healthier alternative, but it is also family friendly, budget conscious and delicious.
When you have a goal of changing your life, it’s not about which diet you should try it is truly about a life style change. We are here to show you that with education and great tools, it doesn’t have to feel like punishment. A Low-Carb life is on a quest to share transformative resources that will make this journey it a little easier. We are here for you every step of the way.
