Ruled Me – Ham and Cheese Keto Stromboli Recipe Review
Recently, I tried my hand at a recipe that looking promising off of Ruled Me.com. I wanted to try the Ham and Cheese Stromboli recipe because it look delicious and could easily be packed up and taken to work for lunch.
I have to tell you, looking at the pictures on the site, I thought there was no way that my result would be anywhere close to the same, but I was pleasantly surprised when I made it because it was delicious!! Please see my results
It was so easy to prepare. The dough portion seemed to me to be a very similar to the Fat Head Pizza dough recipe, but taking it to the next level and layering in ham and cheese was simply genius.
I differed from original recipe and used two types of cheese, I used provolone and Colby jack slices which are my favorites and alternating between slices of ham I also used Columbus ham slices that I got from Costco and was so thrilled at the results.
This will be a recipe that I will have make over and over again. So far I have made this recipe twice, the first time as ham and cheese, the next time, I added some tomato sauce and used pepperoni and cheese, for something like a pizza pocket and I liked that even better.
I feel the possibilities are endless. I give this recipe two thumbs up and encourage you to give this recipe a try. All of the ingredients are basic staples that most people on keto already have on hand. The composition of the dough and pressing it out took all of 5 minutes or less, after baking in the oven and allowing it cool, I was done in 30 minutes from start to finish. This receipt made four large helpings. I may have overcooked the top a little for some, I turned on the broiler at the end to get maximum melt, and it resulted in caramelized cheesy goodness.

• 1 1/4 cups Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
• 4 tbsp. Almond Flour
• 3 tbsp. Coconut Flour
• 1 large Egg
• 1 tsp. Italian Seasoning
• 4 oz. Ham
• 3.5 oz. Cheddar Cheese
• Salt and Pepper to Taste
Preheat your oven to 400F and in a microwave or toaster oven, melt your mozzarella cheese. About 1 minute in the microwave, and 10 second intervals afterward, or about 10 minutes in an oven, stirring occasionally. Combine almond and coconut flour, as well as your seasonings in a mixing bowl. I used salt, pepper and an Italian blend seasoning. When the mozzarella is melted, place that into your flour mixture and begin working it in.
After about a minute, when the cheese has had a chance to cool down a bit, add in your egg and combine everything together. It helps to use two utensils here. When everything is combined and you’ve got a moist dough, transfer it to a flat surface with some parchment paper. Lay a second sheet of parchment paper over the dough ball and use a rolling pin or your hand to flatten it out.
Use a pizza cutter or knife to cut diagonal lines beginning from the edges of the dough to the center, leave a row of dough untouched about 4 inches wide. Alternate laying ham and cheddar on that uncut stretch of dough. Then lift one section of dough at a time and lay it over the top, covering your filling. Then bake it for about 15-20 minutes until you see it has turned a golden brown color. Slice it up and serve!
